Welcome to week 2 of our Buried Deep demos! Continuing with my collaboration with Gaisma Theatre Group, we have a new song available to listen now.

This week's song is "The Nail That Sticks Out," featuring Josh Kenji, with additional vocals provided by Arika Matoba!

WWII is over and Wallace left Japanese-American internment to enter a new America; an invasive country waiting for him to fail. In the twenty years since leaving his barbed wire enclosure, he’s waged a war with the old Wallace to become the most acceptable version of himself. Buckling under the pressure, he finally admits to the hard truths that have kept him afloat in the time since.

New Buried Deep Collaborations

This has been in the works for a while, and I'm happy to share that, with the help of Gaisma Theatre Group, I'm releasing new demos from Buried Deep! Gaisma has helped to assemble a team of singers and brought on Daniel J. F. Wolfert as our audio engineer to bring these songs to life.

After a couple months of planning, a day of recording in a rustic little Issaquah train depot, and work spent with the audio in post; we have some phenomenal music to share with the world!

Over the next four weeks, we'll be releasing the fruits of our labor to give you a picture of what Buried Deep can be. Tune in every Friday to my Youtube, Soundcloud, or Gaisma's Instagram to catch each release.

We're kicking off today with the song "Betrayed," as sung by Sandra Waters!

When Ruri meets the ghost of her ancestor, Tokuhime, she learns that she is descended from a noble family named “Hirano.” Tokuhime also comes with a proposition: What if Ruri’s feelings of emptiness stem from a person estranging her from her family’s roots, and what if she could take action to correct it?

Happy 2025 everyone! With the new year comes a new website design, so I hope you enjoy the new little bells and whistles.

The new year also comes with new performance opportunities, and I'm happy to announce that my music will be featured in Gaisma Theatre Group's upcoming concert! New Year, New Musicals will feature original works from musical theatre writers from around Seattle and the wider Pacific Northwest.

The night will feature 2 songs from my musical Buried Deep. I am very excited to showcase these pieces in front of a live audience, so get your ticket now and see them for yourself!
